God wants us to care for our minds, souls, and bodies in a way that honours Him. He created us and wants His best for us in those areas. He is for our Self Care. I know I, and many Christians need to be reminded of that.
His Love is not based on how we feel. It is not dependent on our works or what we do. It is based on Him and what He did for us. 1 John 4:10 This is real love – not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sin. His love is forever. He is drawing us to Himself. Jeremiah 31:3 Long ago the Lord said to Israel: I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love, I have drawn you to myself.
He takes the focus off of us and shows us how to Love others! Mark 12:31 says The second is this: Love your neighbour as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these. We already love ourselves to some degree no matter how insecure we may feel. Think of how often we think of ourselves.
