Romans 15:4(KJV)
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
The Word of God was written to teach and feed us through the numerous Promises of God found in Scripture. In the Word of God, one can be comforted because of the hope it brings to the believer. When we read it and acknowledge the Promises therein, we receive comfort in times of affliction, persecution and discouragement. God speaks to us through His Word to regulate our lives so that we can enjoy His manifold blessings. The Divine Presence of the Great Shepherd strengthens His sheep through His Word, so much so that they entertain no fear. The Word of God inspires real soothing comfort and hope where there seems to be no hope. It is only in its pages that we find the clear and unmistakable message upon which all true Christianity is based. It is written in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works”
